#GNO with Saks Troy and DVF

This past weekend, my schedule was jam packed and I loved it! Friday evening, I had the pleasure of attending a fun Girl's Night Out hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue in Somerset Mall. The following day, I took part in Fashion In Detroit (blogpost to follow soon).

Rewind back to Friday. Since it was a GNO, I decided to bring my sister with me. We had so much fun getting ready together and deciding what to wear! My sister and I thought it would be fun to wear Diane Von Furstenberg, since it was a DVF event. I love both of our dresses (pictured below). Diane's designs are always so classic. I love the color of my sister's dress- it is perfect for Fall and the print on my dress is so fun and is classic DVF!

Saks always knows how to put on a fabulous event! As soon as we walked in, there was a big cake-like stand made of DVF cake pops (there were so delicious!). Artists from Laura Mercier were on hand to touch up everyone's look as we waited for the mini runway show to begin. One of the makeup artists touched up my look with the Laura Mercier Smoky Eye Palette, exclusive to Saks. I am in love with all the colors found in the palette.

The mini runway show showcased looks from the DVF Fall 2014 collection. Below, are a few of the looks that were shown. There was not one look that I did not love. From the jumpsuits to the mini dresses, there were so many fun and pretty colors! I already have my eye on a few pieces from the collection. What is your favorite DVF look?

The detail on the coat is stunning!

Saks Fifth Avenue Girl’s Night OUT!

Diane von Furstenberg. A lady of elegance and class. Join me this Friday at Saks Fifth Avenue in Somerset mall for a fun Girl's night out! I am so excited that Saks is putting on this event. She is one of my absolute favorite designers. One of the reasons I love DVF so much is because she really knows how to dress and woman and make her feel beautiful and empowered.

It is guaranteed to be a fun night! We will view her Fall 2014 collection while enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and even get a makeover from Laura Mercier. There will even be a mini runway show, showcasing the latest from DVF! After, there will be a stylist on hand to help you style your own look from DVF and you will even get a chance to meet with the reps from the company! Hope to see you all there :)

Art of Detroit

Last evening I had the pleasure of attending The Art of Detroit at Saks Fifth Avenue in Somerset Mall. The event was in benefit of the College of Creative Studies (CCS).

The evening was wonderful. There was a red carpet as soon as you walked in and models modeling off fabulous designer dresses. Food and drink stations were located all around the store from different restaurants in Detroit. My favorite part of the night was the amazing GIVEAWAYS!! I could not believe some of the prizes consisted of a Prada and Gucci bag (gasp!). The best part of it all . . . ALL proceeds from the sale of tickets went to benefit CCS as well as ten percent of the event's sales!

When deciding what to wear, I knew I could not go wrong with this dress I bought from H&M. I got it last summer when I was in Chicago. The colors on the dress remind me of a painting, which I thought was perfect since artwork by Ben Sharkey, a CCS alumni, was showcased. I paired my dress with these white and black bow tie wedges that I purchased from Tender years back during the Birmingham sidewalk sale (Valentino on sale = score!). I know I have been wearing my Valentino black, studded purse a lot lately but I cannot get enough of it. It is definitely one of my all time favorite/best purchases to date. Totally worth every penny!

I was deciding between two shoes when putting together my outfit. How is a girl supposed to choose between Valentino and Jimmy Choo?! Initially I did go with the Valentino's, as you can see in my shoot pre event haha, but soon after changed into the Jimmy Choo's (pictured below). These Choo's are the most comfortable heels I own.
